The Saquon Barkley x Nike Air Trainer III is a colorway of the retro cross-training shoe designed by the New York Giants star running back. The Air Trainer III was originally worn by two-sport athlete Bo Jackson in the late 1980s and has remained an iconic performance and, in recent years, lifestyle shoe, in Nike’s footwear line. Subtle references to New York appear throughout the design, including reflective detailing meant to look like the construction zones that can be found throughout New York City’s five boroughs. Saquon’s lightning logo is found on the heel while his jersey number “26” appears on the tongue. A motif of two black stripes over the lateral Swoosh honors the eyeblack worn by Saquon during games.
