The Brain Dead x Asics Gel-Nimbus 9 “Nightshade” is a collaboration by the Los Angeles based clothing and lifestyle brand and Asics on a distinctly Y2K-style colorway of the retro sneaker. Brain Dead and Asics connect to bring a throwback, early 2000s look to the Gel-Nimbus 9 on the “Nightshade” colorway, and the release doesn’t fail to conjure nostalgic memories of sneaker aesthetics from that time period. The shoe features an industrial design with a mixture of colors, beginning with a shade of maroon on the mesh base and forest green on the leather overlays. Brain Dead’s signature branding appears on the sockliner while “Asics” detailing is seen throughout the design. Asics’s Gel cushioning inserts are on the forefoot and heel, and provide a comfortable and responsive ride. Release date: January 24, 2023
