The Women’s Nike Air Max 97 “Valentine’s Day” is the late ‘90s runner in a colorway inspired by the annual lover’s holiday. A January 2020 release by Nike, the “Valentine’s Day” colorway displays a two-tone black and red color scheme that evokes the mischievous side of the romantic holiday. Wavy black leather panels are overlaid across the tonal mesh base of the upper in classic Air Max 97 fashion. A lone University Red panel appears above the plush black leather mudguard offering a simple yet welcoming contrast of color. A small red Swoosh logo is layered over the mesh detailing above the midsole on either side of the shoe. The nylon pull tab on the heel features retro inspired “Air Max” branding for a decidedly ‘90s vibe. Nike gives this women’s edition of the Air Max 97 the same full-length visible Max Air cushioning as the original model from 1997 to finish off the look.
