The Nike Blazer Mid ‘77 VNTG “Popcorn” is a March 2021 release of the retro basketball and lifestyle shoe dressed in a colorway inspired by old school movie theatre popcorn boxes. In addition to its appearance on the Blazer, the “Popcorn” theme was also used by Nike on the iconic Air Force 1, another retro hoops-turned-lifestyle-shoe with a large and dedicated following. Here, a Coconut Milk shade of tumbled leather forms the base of the shoe and a cream leather Swoosh is stitched onto either side. The retro-inspired cream nylon tongue replicates the look of two-tone red-and-white movie theatre popcorn boxes and a graphic printed on the liner reveals popped kernels. Additionally, the “Nike” branding on the heel mimics the “Popcorn” font found on the front of the cardboard boxes. Nike adds another nice touch to the shoe, inscribing the slogan “Fresh Since ‘77” in gold foil on the lateral side of the heel. A cream vulcanized rubber sole completes the look.
