The Nike Waffle One “Active Fuchsia” is a progressively-styled lifestyle shoe by Nike that looks to the brand’s collaborations with sacai on the LDWaffle and Undercover on the Daybreak for inspiration. The Waffle One is a present day interpretation of early Nike running shoes like the LDV, Waffle Racer, and Daybreak, all of which were instrumental in Nike’s success as a footwear brand during the running sneaker boom of the 1970s. The Waffle One features an Active Fuchsia mesh base with contrasting blue suede overlays on the toe, eyelets, and heel. A University Gold leather Swoosh graces both sides. The layered black-and-cream midsole is similar to the design of the avant-garde sole unit placed underneath many of sacai’s Nike Waffle collaborations. Release date: May 26, 2021
