The Nike Air Max 97 “Air Sprung” is a festive colorway of the retro running shoe that hones in on a “rebirth” theme. From the “Air Sprung” pack from February 2022, this vibrant colorway is yet another example of Nike’s efforts in sustainability, as the shoe’s caterpillar designs are a tongue-in-cheek reference to recycled materials that began their lifecycle as one product, before becoming another later on. The shoe features a Coconut Milk-colored mudguard that is contrasted with Sesame and red wavy panels. A smiling caterpillar can be found hanging out on the embroidered Swoosh on the lateral side of the shoe. Additional characters, including a butterfly and mushroom, appear on the tongue and insole, respectively. Custom “Air Sprung” branding is found on the tongue. Release date: February 1, 2022
